Kofi Portuphy grabs another award for honesty and integrity

Barely three months after he was awarded with a doctorate degree by an American university the aspiring chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Sir Dr. Kofi Portuphy had basked in yet another award, this time by the West Africa Nobles Forum (WANF) which is made up of eminent West Africans.

According to WANF Ebenezer Kofi Portuphy is a man of integrity and an eminent Ghanaian who had sacrificed to put a smile on the faces of thousands of people especially the poor and vulnerable.

The nobles award are presented annually to prominent West Africans whose selfless efforts in their chosen field of endeavor, have earned them a reputation beyond the shores of their respective countries. in addition, recipients are known to have upheld the virtues of honesty, integrity and accountability in both their public and private lives.

Sir. Dr, Noble Ebenezer Kofi Portuphy was honored alongside a few West Africans for their noble virtues and immense contributions to the growth and development of Ghana and the West African region.

The West Africa Nobles Forum (WANF) is a non-overnmental, non-religious and non profit making organization with its headquarters in Accra, Ghana. It was established in October, 2003 and has a membership of over thousand five hundred.

Apart from gaining the title of a 'Noble' Dr Kofi Portuphy had other entitlement to the award which include, Automatic membership of the forum, a special membership certificate, Nobles car sticker, breastlet (PIN) and a Golden Award Plaque.

Addressing the Newly inducted Nobles at a conferment ceremony in Akosombo in the Eastern region the chairman of the occasion Noble Rockson Dogbegah charged the Nobles to continue to keep the flame of honesty and integrity aflame and help eschew corruption and corrupt practices.

''A Noble is defined as fine personal qualities that people admire, courageous, humility, honesty and care for others. Saying, integrity is high moral excellence honesty and sincerity. knowing what is right is a requirement of the laws of the Nobles Forum, Noble Rockson Dogbegah said.

Interacting with the Media after the program a good looking Noble Ebenezer Kofi Portuphy said this award is to the government and the good people of Ghana for the confidence and courage they reposed in me for getting to where I am today.

''the lord has been merciful and gracious to me and I thank God for the strength. I pledge to continue to do the things that have the potential to give hope to the people and leave a legacy worthy of emulation,'' Kofi Portuphy Said.

Ebenezer Kofi Portuphy is the National Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), a Vice Chairman of the NDC and director of elections for the ruling party. Story by: Kojo Hadjor
