Edmund Kyei, NPP communicator has reacted to the myriad accusations hurled at President Akufo-Addo and his administration by Chairman of the NDC, Kofi Portuphy at the just ended NDC press conference stating that all allegations are baseless and bereft of any real proof.
Speaking to Asempanews.com shortly after the press conference, Mr. Kyei challenged the NDC chairman to back his corruption allegations with evidence.
“He may have raised valid points on the issues of insecurities and corruption (most of which were started by the opposition) but government is working diligently to bring under control. So where are these accusations coming from?” he questioned.
“Regardless of political affiliation, every citizen seeks a peaceful and stable country if indeed we are looking to progress as a people. So accusing the NPP of condoning indiscipline, criminal activities and the likes is entirely out of place; Nana is passionate about the fight against corruption and crime in all its forms,” he maintained.
According to the NPP communicator, the NDC should rather be ashamed of messing up the economy before leaving office, for Akufo-Addo and his administration to fix it.
“The economy has already started to take shape with a decline in interest rate, inflation and the environment and water bodies are gradually regaining its natural status after the fight against illegal mining in the country.
“But this is just the tip of the iceberg; factories will start operating to create jobs for the youth and soon the children we see trading on our streets will find their way into classroom thanks to the Free SHS project,” he averred.
He added that the NDC can think of the NPP as having a ‘tea party’ but just as “Rome was not built in a day”, Nana and his team have started gradually building but will surely put Ghana on the right standing sooner than expected.
