Gomoa-Potsin (C/R), March 16, GNA - The Assistant Headmaster of the Gomoa-Potsin TI Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School, Mr Donus K. Buadi, has charged teachers at the school to maintain and improve their performance in the years ahead.

Addressing the teachers at their quarterly appraisal meeting at Potsin, Mr Buadi assured parents and guardians that the teachers would intensify their work to justify the huge expenditure they were incurring on their children and wards.

Mr Buadi stressed the need for them to play a complementary role to augment the efforts of the school authorities.

According to Mr Buadi, this would enable the children contribute effectively to the development of their communities and the nation in future.

He said it was desire of both teachers and administrators of the school to turn out knowledgeable and highly disciplined young men and women capable of making positive contributions towards the full realization of national objectives in future.

Mr Buadi said teachers of the school were prepared to impart knowledge and skills to the students and urged parents and guardians to settle the school fees of the children and wards to encourage the authorities of the school.

He said the school needed additional classrooms, computers and science teachers to cope with the rising number of students.

Ms Zainab Adams, Assistant Headmistress earlier at a meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) called on the parents and guardians to protect their children and wards from bad company, which could lead them to indulge in immoral activities during vacations.

They should also endeavour to prevent their female children from putting on indecent dress, adding that, this would compliment the efforts of the school authorities to inculcate a high sense of discipline in the students.

Ms Zainab Adams assured the PTA that female teachers in the school would team up with their male counterparts to make the school not only one of the best academically, but also a "highly-disciplined secondary school" in Ghana.

She said the teachers and management alone could not achieve the objective without the support of parents and guardians.
