Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has asked skeptics in the country not to put fear in the citizenry while the nation awaits the verdict of the Supreme Court.

He sought to defuse tensions in the public domain as the nation awaits the nine-member Supreme Court judges’ final ruling on the pending election case, the veteran journalist stressed on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, that the nation will definitely not become a war zone.

According to him, “nobody will fight in Ghana. It will shock the politicians that the Supreme Court will make its decision…and nothing will happen in Ghana because Ghanaians are smart.

“Ghanaians are much wiser than the politicians think we are…And whoever decides to cause mayhem in this country will face the wrath of the security services.”

He noted that the constitution has vested powers in the judiciary to adjudicate on disputes and ensure that justice takes its course.

He, therefore, issued a strong warning to insurgents in the country, saying “all of our powers to determine what is just and what is not just is vested in the judiciary. The ultimate court is the Supreme Court…So, who are you to say the verdict is unfair? On whose authority do you say the verdict is not fair?”
