Fourteen girls, some of whom were alleged to be either pregnant or nursing their babies did not turn up to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Nkoranza District.
Fourteen girls, some of whom were alleged to be either pregnant or nursing their babies did not turn up to write their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Nkoranza District. Ten boys also did not put in an appearance but no reasons were assigned. These came to light when the District Education Co-ordinator in-charge of Basic Examinations, Mr. J. K. Amoah and Mr. A. K. Yeboah, Officer for Basic Schools toured some of the examination centers. One thousand one hundred and eighty-four candidates registered to take the examination in the district. There were three absentees at the Akuma center, four each at Nkoranza Junior Secondary School and Nkoranza Secondary Technical School, five at Yefri center and eight at Busunya center.
