Popular Ghanaian musician and political personality, Kwame Asare Obeng, better known as A Plus, has accused some government agencies of operating fake Facebook accounts.

According to a report by MyNewsGH.com, A Plus stated that the top Police hierarchy is also involved in the scheme. He went ahead to say that it is an attempt by the executive and the security agencies to “own people’s voices.”

He added that he was also a victim of such a plot because the institutions involved wanted to say things he had not said.

This, he also revealed because they had an agenda they wished to pursue.

A Plus also revealed that he has on several occasions reported the matter to the police, but for about six months now, nothing has been done about it.

To this end, he wondered: “Who should I go and blame? I am accusing them of creating those pages to serve their own agenda!” he emphatically stated.

He again revealed that the National Security, the Police Service and people at the Jubilee House also know of fake social media accounts in the name of the Chief Justice, The Inspector General of Police (IGP) and others.

Meanwhile the IGP, David Asante-Apeatu, has warned of serious consequences if anyone is caught operating fake social media accounts.
