Felix Kwakye Ofosu is the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications
Government Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that the Presidency is yet to receive the petition filed by Electoral Commission (EC) staffer Joseph Blankson Adumadzie seeking the removal of EC Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies.
According to a MyJoyOnline report on November 26, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu explained that such petitions are formally routed through the Secretary to the President.
However, the Secretary has not received any of such documents.
“Normally, it will go to the Secretary to the President if it is addressed to the President. I've engaged him. He has not sighted it yet. But I'm sure that if he does, there's a process, a long-standing process, that this goes through, and any information on that will be conveyed to the public”, he stated.

He added that he is unaware of any other petition of a similar nature but emphasized that if one did exist and reached the Secretary’s office, the public would be informed, just as it was done in the case involving the Chief Justice.
Kwakye Ofosu also stated that the government is committed to keeping citizens informed while strictly adhering to constitutional procedures.
He described this as a deliberate shift toward openness, emphasising that public officials hold office in trust for the people.
Kwakye Ofosu noted that he assumed office only ten months ago and maintained that no public office belongs to any individual.
According to him, those who occupy such positions do so using the mandate and resources of the citizenry and must be accountable.
The Government Spokesperson said that whenever a petition is filed against a public officeholder, it is appropriate for government to inform the public about receiving it, the procedures involved, and subsequent steps.

He stressed that the aim is to avoid situations where major decisions appear to emerge abruptly without public understanding of how they began.
Kwakye Ofosu insisted that while transparency and accountability guide government communication, all actions remain within the confines of the law, as the administration cannot act outside what legal provisions allow.
