Kumasi, Jan. 1, GNA - The Reverend father Philip Opoku Nyame, Parish Priest of the Saint Paul's Catholic Church, has appealed to President J.A. Kufuor to continue with the policy of all inclusive government during his second tenure of office.

He said this is because the country witnessed the usefulness of such a policy during the past four years, as it brought talents and skills of other personalities who were not even members of the ruling party to bear on development of the nation through their inclusion in the government.

Rev. Father Nyame made the appeal at a watch night service held at the St. Paul's Catholic Parish Church at Amakom in Kumasi last night. He observed that such an initiative had also paved way for political opponents to bury their differences and place development of the nation above their personal and party interest.

Rev. Nyame called on religious leaders, traditional authorities, politicians and all public officials, to commit and rededicate themselves to working much harder to facilitate efforts at improving the economy.

Addressing a vigil service at South Suntreso in Kumasi, Primate S.K. Adofo, Spiritual Head of the Brotherhood Church, reminded Ghanaians to make realistic and achievable goals for this year.

He said resolutions and goals which are made, but could not be achieved or yield the desired impact, are baseless and meaningless and should therefore not be made at all.

Primate Adofo stated clearly that resolutions could not yield positive results in a vacuum unless those who make them devote themselves to hard and genuine work.

He suggested to Ghanaians to help make the current peace in the country a reality by conducting themselves in an acceptable manner at all times.

In a message at a watch night service also held at the Gospel Revival Church of Christ at Sofoline, Kumasi, Bishop J.N.K. Boateng, Founder of the Church, advised Ghanaians to avoid the temptation of entering the new year with any bad habits and hatred for their neighbours.

Bishop Boateng said they should this time round rather resolve genuinely to leave the past behind them, while establishing practical cordial relationship with their perceived foes.
