President Kufuor at the World Leaders Forum

President Kufuor is in New York to attend the General Assembly of the United Nations. Columbia University President has invited Mr. Kufuor while he's in town to an event called the World Leaders Forum at the university.

World Leaders Forum ~ Ghana Conference on Technology & Outsourcing

On behalf of Columbia University, President Lee C. Bollinger cordially invites you to attend a World Leaders Forum Lecture to be presented by His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor, President of the Republic of Ghana on Thursday, September 25, 2003 [12:00 pm-1:00 pm] at Low Memorial Library, Columbia University, 116th & Broadway, New York City, New York.

The secret service will clear the Rotunda at the Low Memorial Library at 1:00 pm in preparation for another event featuring Russian President Vladimir Putin. At 1:00 pm, the World Leaders Forum (Ghana) delegates will evacuate the Low Library for a reception and networking at Jerome Greene Hall, Columbia Law School. Other executives scheduled to speak after Ghana’s president at the Ghana Conference on Technology & Outsourcing will begin presenting at 2:00 pm.

The World Leaders Forum and the Ghana Conference on Technology & Outsourcing will be televised by PAX Cable TV Network and rebroadcasted by Ghana Television. The conference seeks to:

(1) Assemble leading corporate executives in the United States to learn more about the emerging technology and business process outsourcing opportunities in Ghana. A small but growing number of American entrepreneurs and venture capitalists have discovered Ghana’s favorable business climate and the country’s enormous potential in exporting business and technology services.

(2) Unveil a proposal to establish Ghana Technology Park, an upscale business and technology complex, featuring units for hardware assembly and configuration, call center operation and large-scale business process outsourcing to stimulate the growth of technology companies in the 6-square- mile campus of the University of Science & Technology.
