President Kufuor leaves for US

Accra, July 28, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Friday for the United States of America for the signing ceremony of the Millennium Challenge Accounts (MCA), which is expected to be broadcast live on August 1st 2006.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and NEPAD and some senior government officials accompanied the President who is expected back home within a week. Vice President Aliu Mahama, Ministers of State, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. J.B. Danquah, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Patrick Acheampong and the other Service Commanders saw him off at the Airport.
