President Kufuor should listen to Gregg Frazier

During these last few weeks the radio stations have been buzzing with the revelations that there is really money for Ghanaians in Switzerland and that they Blay Miezah “hoax” is rally no hoax at all.

“It’s true!” Gregg Frazier, the fiery International Coordinator for Oman Ghana, in his first radio interview made clear to the listening public the problems and deceptions that have occurred in the past, and how they could be corrected. The ‘Ghanaian Voice’ says it can only utter, “we told you so more than five years ago.”

Mr Frazier explained that there are two roles that must be fulfilled; The first, that of sole beneficiary, lies with Mrs Joyce Blay-Miezah, as she is the person, the only person that the banks in Switzerland recognise to sign for the money on behalf of the People of Ghana. The second role, that of sole Trustee of the Oman Ghana Group of Companies is presently vacant, and needs Ghana government representative to authorise the start-up of these companies. Companies that will employ millions of Ghanaians in a number of areas. These companies belong to the people of Ghana.

Mr Frazier made it clear that Oman Ghana means the people of Ghana. According to The Ghanaian Voice, it taped the interviews with Frazier, and was impressed with his humility as well as his boldness, and love for the country. It’s obvious that he knows what he is speaking about. He has implored the government of President J.A. Kufuor to take one look at the reality and simplicity of this whole business.

When questioned that past governments had tried and failed to get the money, Gregg Frazier stated that it was just not true, and produced documentary evidence to prove his point. He stated that in 1975, the then government withdrew their support 4 days before completion, not because the money wasn’t real, but because the then head of state argued that Blay should pay him ‘Right Away’. He had only 4 days to wait, he wouldn’t.

When questioned about the PNDC-NDC era, his comments were direct and straightforward. Blay-Miezah was within hours of completion in 1988 and the whole thing was botched. The then security chief, Capt Kojo Tsikat, agreed to assist him (Blay) to enter Switzerland, but before Blay-Miezah could leave Ghana, Ex-President Rawlings called Blay-Miezah to the Castle to tell him not to play tricks on Ghana.

Late Blay-Miezah told Rawlings he would give him $1 billion to step down and let him, Blay Miezah become Head of State. This action landed Blay in hot waters and he never left Ghana again. Frazier begged the old government, and he says he is begging this government, “don’t throw the baby away with the bathwater!

In the radio interview, Frazier was asked what should be done to him if he himself is lying? Frazier answered that “I have no desire to die, or be imprisoned, but that if anyone came to Ghana to try to deceive the government and people of Ghana, that one should receive a fate worse than death, and if what he was saying wasn’t true, he should be held liable to the full rigours of the law.

When asked about why he has stayed here for ten years, and what was in it for him, his answer was again clear. He represents 700 families in America who have money owed to them by the Trust. “These people cannot get their money until Ghana gets hers first. He said that although less than three per cent of the money is owed to the Americans and Europeans, his largest concern is his reputation, as he has convinced a number of his business associates that what he is saying is true.

As Frazier said, “I want to be vindicated and validated.” He is quoted as saying he will pay all expenses for the government delegation to go to Switzerland, but before that, government must be made aware of everything- complete transparency. Frazier’s closing comments, showed good common sense. He said what does Ghana lose if she simply goes to see and take. On the other hand, Ghanaians will lose billions upon billions of US dollars if she does not act.

He says the present government of Mr Kufuor states that we are a new government with new ideas. How would the people react if “we are seen as trying to go back into history”? Frazier reacts that this business has never been completed. Why not complete it for the people of Ghana?

Asked about the last ten years in court, Frazier stated that time was completely wasted. The matter in court was Blay Miezah’s estate, which consists of $96 million. The money that will be used to fund the Trust Companies is in excess of $100 billion. Since Blay didn’t own the Trust, why are Ghanaians trying to access it through his Estate? In his typical straightforward answer, Frazier asked the people of Ghana how can you get over $100 billion, when you yourselves are saying the amount is $96 million.

In fact this paper is asking the same questions, Mr J.A. Kufuor, why not help Frazier, help our people, or punish, Frazier for lying to our people. Let’s get to the bottom of this whole affair. If there is something for Ghanaians, and this man is saying he will use his own money, to send the delegation to Switzerland, as he has used his own time what do we lose?
