John Dramani Mahama is the President of Ghana
President John Dramani Mahama is set to hold a crucial dialogue session with Organised Labour on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Jubilee House as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with key stakeholders.
The meeting was announced by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on Facebook on March 17, 2026.
"This evening, he will hold a dialogue with Organised Labour after meeting the Business Community last month. He will then meet Civil Soceity Organisations at a later date", he wrote.
He further indicated that President Mahama will subsequently embark on the “Resetting Ghana Tour” to interact with citizens, assess ongoing government projects, and engage the media.
The dialogue comes shortly after the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) suspended its nationwide strike action.
At a press briefing on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe announced that the association’s National Executive Committee had agreed to halt the strike following a government appeal, granting authorities a two-week window to address concerns over salary structure and conditions of service.
He indicated that the decision was taken after reviewing the government’s request for time to reach an amicable resolution, directing all members to resume work by March 24, 2026.
Organised Labour pushes for further minimum wage increase
Despite the suspension, CLOGSAG has maintained a firm stance against engaging with the National Labour Commission, citing ongoing legal action against the body.
The industrial action disrupted operations across several public sector institutions.
