President Mills’ spirituality watched over Ghana-Chief Priest

Midawo Alorwu Attipoe, Chief Priest of Ziope Traditional area on Thursday described the late President John Evans Atta Mills as a “spiritual icon” whose “good deeds” kept watch over the country.

He said President Mills’ kindheartedness and spirit of forgiveness were “supernatural and interceded” on behalf of the country in the past three years ensuring that peace prevailed.

Midawo Attipoe was speaking at a gathering of chiefs, political activists, heads of decentralized institutions and the public at Ziope, to mourn the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

The event which recorded a very high turn-out, was under the auspices of the Agotime-Ziope District Assembly.

The crowd earlier marched through the farming community amidst drumming and singing of dirges.

Midawo Attipoe said late President Mills' good virtues and spiritual astuteness prevented misfortunes from befalling the country.

He explained that President Mills’ constant prayers and “good heart” warded off evil forces within and outside the country.

Midawo Attipoe said the late President Mills was one of the few Presidents in Africa with such gifts of great love, and that he is non-replaceable.

Mr. Michael Kobla Adzaho, Agotime-Ziope District Chief Executive, said late President Mills would be remembered for prudent policies and projects, especially in small towns and communities.

He commended the people for the turn-out and urged them to remain united and peaceful.

Togbe Bina Lawluvi XI, Paramount Chief of Ziope Traditional Area, announced that the area had postponed its annual Agbleza Festival, which coincided with the funeral of the late President.

He said the postponement was to honor the late President and afford people in the community the opportunity to reflect on his lifestyle and the developments he brought to the area.

Togbe Lawluvi said the community would fully participate in all programmes planned locally in memory of the late President from Wednesday August 08 to Friday August 10, 2012.

He urged the citizenry to show respect to leaders in the country and offer constructive criticisms to encourage them to deliver their best to the country.**
