Aglow International, Ghana, on Thursday expressed its condolence on the untimely death of Professor Evans Atta Mills.

A press release issued by the Christian organization, described the late President as a gallant soldier of God, who exhibited the fruits of the Spirit like patience, endurance, self-control and long-suffering, among others in both his private and public life.

It further stated that Professor Mills would be remembered for instituting the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day, and that the noble ideas of the late President such as peace, hard work, integrity and commitment to duty, should spur us on as a nation unto greater heights.

The National Aglow gave their thanks to God for seeing the nation through a peaceful and smooth transition and the swearing-in ceremony of President John Mahama.

It advised Ghanaians to strengthen their faith in God in these painful moments and to look up to Him for solace.

It also urged them to pray and reflect on the sovereignty of God in these difficult times.

“We take this opportunity to extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Dr. Mrs. Naadu Mills, family and the entire nation for this great loss.

“We also urge political leaders and their supporters, church leaders, media practitioners to eschew intemperate language from our interactions, to ensure the unity and peace of the nation,” the statement further added.
