President Urges Castle Staff To Change Image

President J.A. Kufour has urged workers at the Osu Castle to shed the negative image of excessive use of power unjustitifiably associated with the place.

According to him the Castle should have true reflection of a government of the people and by the people.

Mr. Kufour asked civil servants at the Castle to do away with the mystery surrounding the seat of government to give it a 21st century image. Recalling the history of the Castle and its use during the colonial period as slave dungeons, the president said it is important for change to be effected to enableit attract love and respect.


The Chief of Staff Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey told the staff to feel free to make their differences known to him adding that a good working relationship is crucial to the attainment of government's policy objectives to meet the high expectations of the people.

Mr. James Bebaako-Mensah, secretary to the former Cabinet pledged the support and loyalty of his colleagues to the new government.
