The President’s Spokesperson John Jinapor has denied that President John Dramani Mahama ever offered anti-graft campaigner PC Appiah Ofori any ministerial appointment as claimed by the former Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Legislator.

John Jinapor wrote on his facebook page Monday February 18 that: "His Excellency President John Mahama has at no point/time offered Mr. P.C Appiah Ofori any ministerial appointment”.

PC had claimed in an interview with the Daily Guide Newspaper that he turned down the President’s offer to make him a minister in his administration a few weeks after he had taken office.

He also claimed the President subsequently offered to appoint him as an Ambassador but he rejected that as well.

P.C Appiah Ofori on Monday February 18, 2013 told XYZ News he however offered to serve as a whistle-blower to expose corruption within the President’s government.

However, John Jinapor denies any such task was ever given to the old MP by the President.

He said the claims by PC Appiah Ofori that the President engaged him at the Castle towards making him a minister were untrue, “left alone to champion anti-corruption administration in his government”, adding that: “As politicians we must learn to speak the truth at all times, no matter the consequences and endeavour to desist from such blatant cum naked lies."
