MOVEMENT FOR NDUOM

PRESS RELEASE

We the leaders of the Movement for Nduom are members of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) who are dedicated to working diligently and selflessly to elect Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom to become the next President of the Republic of Ghana after the 7th December 2008 elections. We have a membership of 120,000 people spread across all the 230 constituencies in the country.

We call on all members of the CPP to rally behind Dr. Nduom and the National Executive officers of the Party so that we can contest the December elections effectively and win many parliamentary seats and the presidency.

We have resolved to work within the Party’s structures and support the work of the National, Regional and Constituency executives. Our work will go to accelerate the national membership drive launched by Dr. Nduom on 1st July 2008. We are determined to work to register First Time Voters and those who are looking for an alternative to the NPP and the NDC to support the CPP. We salute the hundreds of thousands of young men and women who have queued for long hours to register to vote.

We are convinced that there is enough goodwill for the CPP within the Ghanaian populace. The CPP has a great message, the best Presidential Candidate and an unparalleled political tradition in Ghana’s history. Therefore, we will work to win more people to vote for the CPP for change we can feel in our pockets.

We call on the NDC to desist from using our campaign slogan, “Yeresesamu!”. We also remind the NPP that the CPP’s long-standing slogan is “Forward Ever, Backward Never!” It is important for everyone to know that innovation and original thinking are important factors in determining how a political party will perform in office.

Signed: Saturday, 9th August 2008
