Mr Francis Adu-Baly Koffie, Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni/Valley, has donated 730 pieces of mathematical sets and three desktop computers with accessories to the Prestea Anglican and Experimental Junior High Schools (JHS).
The items worth 8,200 Ghana cedis were funded from the MP common fund.
Making the presentation at a brief ceremony at Prestea, Mr. Koffie said the donation was his widow's mite to assist needy schools in the area, and hoped to support other schools in his district.
Mr. Koffie appealed to parents to play their supervisory roles over their children effectively, and to ensure that the children get the necessary basic learning materials to study at home.
Receiving the items on behalf of both schools, the headmaster of the Experimental JHS, Mr. Ernest Mensah together with the Headmistress of Anglican JHS, Madam Gifty Narh, thanked the MP for the kind gesture.
They assured him that the machines would be taken good care of to prolong their life span.
