Prez Jet Controversy: From Wings To Wings

Accra - As for wonders, the day they cease, man would also cease to exist. when the semi-mouth piece of the government of Ghana Daily Graphic told Ghanaians that by leasing a certain jet from wings Aviation Limited, it meant the people by implication had been saved a bundle of dollars and after all the private media shall always lie.

Then one of the Sabi-Sabi papers again came out to say that wings Aviation knew nothing about the whole deal.

Expecting the paper which told Ghanaians that wings Aviation did the deal, challenge that story, I was shocked to read in the Graphic that it acknowledges "a regrettable mistake in its report of September 6, which obviously formed the basis of the exchange between the chronicle and the firm".

But the "unsigned" story of September 6, was very unequivocal in saying that " the government of Ghana owing to its inability to make full payment for reasons of resource constraints, entered into agreement with wings Aviation, marketing agents for Gulf stream aircraft for the lease of the aircraft with the option to buy it at $2,300,000 at the end of the 5-year lease period".

The details given about the aircraft were plenty. Ghanaians should be thankful to know that the plane is of exceptional quality as per the details of the Daily Graphic no-byline story.

But can we believe those details if the major prop of the government's defence is gone? Someone should please leave out the Graphic and let Ghanaians hear the truth. Strangely, the minister of Communication had no idea about the details of the deal when he tried answering questions on a radio programme about this same jet.

Where then is the truth?

Hmm! If you lie to the spider, you only cheat your self.
