Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho, has confirmed that President Mills has a beautiful new 'mansion' sited at Asanfra Street on the Platinum section of the Regimanuel Grey Estates on the Spintex Road which is near completion.
He, however, stresses that the building is a "gift" from a renowned real estate company.
The Searchlight newspaper, on Monday August 15th, published on its front-page with a screaming headline; “Manifesting The Better Ghana…Mills Grabs Brand New Mansion!
According to the story, the building has several rooms and the latest of comforts and is situated on a piece of previously bare land which is behind the Asanfra Street residence of the President.
“The walls round the residence have been raised higher and fortified, and behind it the building is rising rapidly…Previously it had been assumed that the new edifice was going to house the security men guarding the president."
"But the magnitude and beauty of the new structure has put paid to any such suggestions…with many wondering at the extreme funds that is suddenly available to our humble president, who has stated publicly that he cares so much for Ghanaians that he is not going to receive his per diem,” the newspaper said.
But in an exclusive interview with PeaceFM News, Director of Communications at the Presidency explained that the building is a gift to President Mills as a token of appreciation from Regimanuel Grey Estate Limited.
“…It’s not true that he has constructed a new building for him as it is being alleged. It was a building that was given to him as a gift…they themselves decided to do it as a token…,” he said.
He, however, quickly added that anyone who wants to take his explanation with a pinch of salt, can proceed to the offices of the Real Estate limited to be furnished with early detail.
