Prince Charles who is on a four-day visit to the country, has visited a cocoa farm.

His visit to the cocoa farm at Kona in the Ashanti Region on Sunday is significant. He is an advocate of cocoa production.

Prince Charles has continually worked to ensure good cocoa production practices. He therefore took advantage of his visit to Kumasi to visit a cocoa farm on Sunday.

After leaving the Manhyia Palace, he stormed the farm. He was accompanied by top dignitaries including traditional leaders in the area. Scores of people at Kona and the nearby areas also stormed the farm to welcome him.

Prince Charles, who was dressed in a suit walked and inspected the cocoa farm. He asked key questions about how cocoa is grown and cultivated by the farmers.

The visiting Prince also asked questions about the challenges that the farmers faced. The chiefs in the area made presentations to the Prince before he left the farm.

Meanwhile, residents of Kona have expressed delight in the visit of the Prince. According to them, cocoa farms abound in the Ashanti Region and Ghana in general, saying that Prince Charles’ visit to their area was significant and memorable. Some of the farmers said the visit of the Prince would ginger them to work harder.

“We know that we are special and that is why the Prince of Wales visited us today. We shall take inspiration from his visit and increase our yield”, some farmers said.
