Principal of Tepa Health Assistant Training School in fraudulent deals

Mon, 24 Oct 2011 Source: The Informant

The

Principal of the Tepa Health Assistant Training School, Madam Victoria Amoah,

would sooner than later come before the Criminal Investigation Department of

the Ghana Police to explain under what circumstances she became a director of

IDEAS University College at Fiapre in Sunyani.

The CID on Friday stormed Sunyani in search Madam Amoah

but she escaped, compelling the CID to return to Accra and instructed her to

report to the CID headquarters in her own interest. She now has up to Friday,

October 28, 2011 to show up at the CID headquarters.

But the CID did not leave Sunyani totally disappointed

because they arrested one of the wanted characters, Rexy Lovell Mensah, who together

with Madam Amoah, have altered all documents on the ownership of IDEAS University

College from Madam Comfort Adampah into their names.

Madam Amoah now claims she was formerly called LYDIA

AMOAH but changed her name to VICTORIA AMOAH in April 2011.

Interestingly, one of the original directors of the

university is Lydia Amoah, who is the daughter of the proprietress of the

university.

The proprietress of the university introduced Madam

Victoria, a former lecturer at the Berekum Nursing Training College to Rexy

Lovell Mensah to examine the possibility of turning her IDEAS Hotel into a

nursing training college. But it was difficult to get accreditation because the

facilities available were not up to standard.

Madam Adampah suggested the establishment of the

university and subsequently gave monies to Rexy Lovell Mensah to begin the

process of acquiring accreditation.

Unknown to Madam Adampah, Rexy Lovell Mensah and Victoria

Amoah became lovers and teamed up to dupe the proprietress of the university.

The lovers and one Kofi Makai conspired and forged documents

to the effect that they are now the new directors of IDEAS University College.

Later Rexy Mensah rented an uncompleted building and

moved majority of the students to that uncompleted and alleged that Madam

Adampah had gone back to her hotel business.

He named his university ideas university south campus

when the national accreditation board had not given any approval

When students at his south campus asked him whether the

accreditation board had inspected the new campus, Rexy Lovel Mensah told them

that the board had told him that he could go ahead and run the university.

In a related development, Rexy Lovel Mensah as at about

6pm on Monday, October 24, 2011, was still in handcuffs at the police CID head

office because no one was ready to bail him.

One of his uncles who went to the CID office later went

away without signing the bail bond after realizing the enormity of the case.

His lawyer, Mr. Amponsah, could hardly find a solution to the situation as he

stood speechless.

It was not clear at the time of filing this report

whether Rexy Lovel Mensah would call his registrar, Appiah Kubi, his dean of

students, Frank Larbi or his senior lecturer, Nana Agyemang Gyan Gyau III, the

Berekum Atipimhene to rush over to Accra to sign the bail bond.
