Five inmates of the Ho Central Prisons have passed proficiency tests in various trades for the award of National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) certificates.
Gabada Matuine, 36; Raphael Adzokatse, 40; Fotor Gbekle, 39; Selorm Gabada, 42; and Promise Galley, 36; serving sentences between three and seven years, have all passed their practical exams in carpentry, tailoring and electrical.
Mr Divine Ocloo, Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSP), Counsellor at the Prisons, who briefed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday, said the training formed part of the reformation process to equip inmates with employable skills.
He described the works of the inmates, which were displayed, as “very satisfactory”. Mr Ocloo said the Prisons would secure contracts to keep these inmates busy and help them to make some money for themselves.
