Prisoners jailed for attempting to escape

Tarkwa, (W/R) March 22, GNA- A Tarkwa Circuit Court, presided over Mr John Ajet-Nasan, has sentenced four inmates of the Tarkwa Prisons to seven years imprisonment in hard labour for conspiracy, causing damage and attempting to escape from prison custody.

Christian Anane Agbenyega, Yaw Kudasi, Kweku Amewuglena and Seth Gavor pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Jonathan Adotey said, on March 20, this year the accused persons sneaked into a five-seater toilet and with the aid of a metal bar, Agbenyega started cutting a security wire mesh. The noise attracted a warden on duty who effected their arrest.
