Private schools asked not to increase school fees

The National Secretariat of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) on Wednesday urged its member schools not to increase their school fees and salaries following the recent increase in the daily minimum wage.

A statement issued by the Association reminded proprietors about the existing process, whereby, after the government's new minimum wage was announced, the Ghana Education Service (GES) in consultation with GNAPS, would work out new school fees for private schools.

It said, in accordance with this procedure, the GNAPS National Executive has been in consultation with the GES with a view to fix new schools fees.

GNAPS appealed to all private schools to exercise maximum patience until the new school fees were approved by the GES.
