Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide news paper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says the abuse of power by the National Security adviser to President John Mahama ought to investigated thoroughly to bring to book any wrongs perpetrated by him.
Dr. Ayo Ani, managing director of Marbles and Granites was picked up by the BNI with others at the instance of the National Security Advisor to the President, Alhaji Baba Kamara for allegedly taking photos of over 50 Mahindra vehicles that were being branded in the colours of the NDC and circulated on social media.
The pictures which went viral had the narrative that the vehicles belonged to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) but were being re-branded in the colours of the ruling party for their political campaign.
Alhaji Baba Kamara has confirmed causing the arrest of Dr. Ayo Ani for the act which he deemed unlawful and an invasion of his privacy.
Commenting on Joy FM’s News file Saturday, Baako said he will agree with the contention on the ownership of the vehicles being put to rest, but issues of the unlawful arrest of the victim should be probed as a way of safeguarding the democratic principles of the nation.
“The NCCE has intervened and they’ve issued a disclaimer; fair deal, unless somebody has any evidence that contradicts what the NCCE is saying, the matter relative to the ownership of the vehicle can be laid to rest.
“But the abuse of office by the National security Adviser is live and ought to be interrogated.” Baako said.
