President John Dramani Mahama has been challenged to probe the Circle Interchange project if indeed he is not corrupt as alleged by his political opponents.

His challenger, Mr. Carl Wilson, an activist of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), promised to campaign for him to retain his seat as President of the Republic of Ghana, if he turns out clean after the investigations are concluded.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Rainbow Radio's Kwabena Agyapong on Eboboba, the political scientist said, ''if the President says he's clean and incorruptible, then I'm challenging him to probe the Circle Interchange Project. That is an open challenge. People have accused you of being corrupt. The NPP has accused Mahama and his government of presiding over corruption...So as a citizen of this country... I'm citing the Circle Interchange Project. President Mahama should open up the project to investigations. He should allow the project to be probed to establish the cost of the project.''

Carl Wilson when asked if he smells a rat in the project refused to answer specially, rather he stressed the need for President Mahama to allow an investigations into the project.

He said, there is a reason why he is calling on the president to allow that probe. He stated that the probe would establish if Ghana got value for money. ''I want the president to come up clean with the people of Ghana and not Carl Wilson. The president got the mandate from the people of Ghana and so, he should come up clean...If he wants to go back to the people to renew his mandate, then he should come up clean...If he is able to do that, we will go out and campaign for him.''

He said he do not have any evidence to prove that President Mahama is corrupt as an individual but, if he wants to prove to Ghanaians that his administration is not corrupt as alleged, then he should take up the challenge, he added.

''For the President, John Dramani Mahama to prove to Ghanaians that there is no corrupt act in his government; he's clean as he's being portrayed; as we all believe he is, let him probe with the principles of probity and accountability on which the NDC was established...to prove to Ghanaians before we head into the election that, what i said that there was no corrupt act in my government and system; this is the prove...That is the challenge I'm throwing to the government, and the party and Mahama...Let him probe it, let him open it up. To probe and account for the things that went on in bringing the Circle Interchange to Ghana.''
