A total of sixty-six (66) awards were presented to organizations and individuals for their exceptional contributions to the procurement and supply chain industry.

Speaking on the topic “tackling procurement integrity in Ghana”, the minister expressed her gratitude to Instinct Wave- organizers of GHAPSCA 2019 for the invitation and hard work in recognizing and rewarding Practitioners.

Addressing Procurement practitioners present at the event, Hon. Adwoa Safo revealed that collusion and fraud threatened the judicious utilization of public finance and encouraged practitioners to maintain integrity in the procurement process.

“I strongly believe that we can only achieve value for money if we provide for integrity in our procurement system. Lack of integrity violates equal treatment and equal participation in the procurement process” she said.

“...on the issue of integrity, I strongly believe that as procurement practitioners we need a uniform code of conduct for all procurement practitioners in this country, where we can measure and benchmark the actions, inactions of procurement practitioners in our country.”

“And on this note I wish to inform all gathered here that, my office on the 27th of February this year inaugurated an Ethics and Standards Committee that is chaired by the country manager of CIPS Ghana. The committee is tasked to formulate a comprehensive and uniform code of conduct for procurement practitioners in Ghana and to proffer sanctions where there are breaches to this code.” The minister announced.
