Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the 2024 Running Mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), visited some EC Voter Registration Centres in the Central Region.
She was there on Saturday, May 11, 2024, to monitor the registration exercise and also get first-hand information on the process so far and the challenges being faced.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang commenced her tour in Awutu Senya East through to Awutu Senya West, Efutu, Mfantseman, Cape Coast North and ended in Cape Coast South.
She took time to interact with the Electoral Commission officials, registrants, constituency branch executives of the NDC, and other party sympathizers.
Her monitoring of the exercise showed that the processes were peaceful at the centres she visited.
The EC officials were, however, optimistic that they would attend to all registrants before the close of business.
In her interaction with some registrants, Prof Naana Jane explained the importance of getting their voter's Identification Cards and the impact it can have on their lives. She urged registrants to vote wisely when the time is due taking into consideration their standard of living.
She showed appreciation to the Electoral Commission officials, and the Constituency Branch Executives, for working hard throughout the period.
She commended registrants for taking time out of their schedules to partake in the registration exercise.
