Professor Eshun heads Takoradi Polytechnic

Professor John Eshun, Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Takoradi Polytechnic has been appointed as the new Rector of the school.

His appointment comes in the wake of the retirement of Reverend Prof Daniel Nyarko the former rector of the school.

Prof Eshun, who is expected to assume office in November 1, joined the faculty of the Polytechnic in 1999 as a lecturer and rose through the ranks to become Head of Department: Interior Design and Production and the Building and Civil Engineering Department.

He later became the Dean of the School of Engineering, Vice Rector and until his appointment, Dean in charge of Degree Programmes.

Prof Eshun has made enormous contribution to the curriculum development of the Polytechnic education in the country and has a number of research papers to his credit.

He has presented many papers at international conferences with lots of his refereed published in international journals.

Prof Eshun is a member of the international Forest Association and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry.

He had his basic education at Prestea Gold Feilds International School proceeded to the Ghana Secondary Technical School for his O and A levels then to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

Prof Eshun obtained his Doctor of philosophy in Environmental Engineering at Wageningen University and Research, Environmental System Analysis Group in the Netherlands in 2007 and 2012.

The new professor who also doubles as a preacher of the gospel in the Light House Chapel International, Anaji is married with four children.
