Dr MARTIN La-Kumi is a prominent and prolific dental surgeon in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He is also a philanthropist and someone who embodies the art of selfless endeavors in the betterment of the lives of the simple folks who need someone in their corner and other uplifting social causes in the service of mankind.
Since he came to North America to pursue further education, he has been to a variety of schools including Long Island University in New York, Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and Indiana University, USA where he pursued and gained a Doctor of Dental Surgeon degree in 1984.
From then, he has built a thriving dental surgical practice in the city of Toronto, through which he has come in contact with a cross-section of the Canadian as well as the Gbanaian communities. He has been on several speaking engagements in major cities in North America.
He has held several leadership positions in the Gbanaian community and Okuapeman Cultural Association both in Canada and the USA. Dr. La ? Kumi is presently the Omanhene of the Okuapeman Cultural Association in Canada and the USA from where he has overseen the growth of the association and that of its members.
He is known in private life as Nana Osabarima La-Kumi Sasraku. He was the Hon. Consul General of the Republic of Ghana from 1997 to 2002. His selfless service and commitment to Ghana and his fellow Ghanaian cannot be over-emphasized and worthy of emulation.
