Accra, July 20, GNA - Mr Ladi Nylander, Chairman and Leader of Convention People's Party (CPP), has called on members of the party to propagate the ideology of Nkrumahism in their constituencies to differentiate the CPP from all other political parties in the country.

He said CPP's ideology of Nkrumahism, which thrived on the three pillars of Self Determination, Social Justice and Pan Africanism, was a home-grown ideology that focused on Ghana's accelerated developmental needs and not those that would derail these efforts like 'hiding behind the cultural value of gift giving to engage in corruption'.

Mr Nylander made the call when addressing CPP Youth in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

He said CPP would become very attractive to the electorate if they were made to understand these ideologies and how its deployment could transform the country for the benefit of all citizens regardless of their political affiliation.

Mr Nylander confirmed the party's proposed national delegates congress scheduled for next December to elect national officers and a flag bearer in early 2011.

He said leadership of the party would endeavour to get the Nkrumahist front united to build a formidable alternative to the NDC and NPP.

Mr Nylander appealed to the youth to come up with creative socially acceptable activities to help their communities attain development through voluntarism.

Mr William Dowokpor, the Communications Director of the party, said CPP was capable of winning the Ayawaso West Wuogon Parliamentary seat in 2012 if the constituency sustained the enthusiasm of the youth in its organisation.

He said the CPP would give proper representation to the people of the constituency through active consultation, research and quality debates in Parliament to shape laws and policies in the interest of the people in the constituency and the nation.

Mr Dowokpor urged the youth to stay away from political hooliganism and channel their energies into positive ventures that would be rewarding to their parents, communities, nation and Africa.
