The Judgement Debt Commission will continue its public sitting at the former office of the Constitution Review Commission in Accra.
The Commission was established to enquire into judgement debt payments and other related matters in the country.
A statement signed by Mr. George William Dove, Public Relations Officer of the Commission and copied to Ghana News Agency stated that the Commission would hold its public sittings on Monday July 14, Tuesday July 15, Wednesday July 16, and Thursday July 17.
According to the statement, some representatives from the Attorney General’s Department, Judicial Service, Lands Valuation Division of Lands Commission and Nii Adjei Kpobi Asaawa II, have been invited to appear before the commission on July 14.
The statement said the Attorney General’s Department and Mr. Ben Korley of Messrs Intellisys are to appear before the commission on July 15 to assist the commission in its work.
Other organisations such as Assets Confiscated Committee, Astek Fruit Processing Limited, Bank of Ghana, Lands Commission, Koforidua, Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning and Mohammed Hijazi of African Automobile Limited would appear before the commission on July 16.
It also said on July 17, Akyepim Chambers, Ghana Highways Authority, Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Volta River Authority would appear before the commission.
The statement explained that invitees are at liberty to appear with their lawyers, adding that the sitting will be held at 1000 hours each day.
“Members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information are first to report at the Commission’s office to give their statements.
“The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence,” it added.
According to the statement, those who intend to testify to the commission but are unable to come in person should submit memoranda to the commission that such memorandum would be treated confidentially.
“The Commission’s office is located at 16, 5th Link Cantonments adjacent to the American Embassy Roundabout, Accra precisely the offices of the former Constitution Review Commission."
