Accra, March 15, GNA - The Police on Tuesday said no one should ride unregistered motorcycles during the up coming "Wahala Demonstration".
A statement signed by Mr D. N. Ampah Bennin, Director, Police Public Relations, said the warning was necessitated by an observation the Police made during the previous "Wahala Demonstration" organized by the Committee for Joint Action on March 1 2005.
It said during the demonstration it was noticed that whiles some participants rode on unregistered motorbikes others rode without crash helmets, which "posed a serious danger to both the riders and other participants in the demonstration".
The Police advised those intending to take part in the "Wahala Demonstration" to desist from riding on unregistered motorcycles and without helmets. The statement said offenders would be prosecuted.
