With just a few days to the December 7 general elections, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church Ghana (FGC Ghana), Rev. Dr. Francis Sey, has called on Ghanaians to prioritize the nation’s unity and peace above all else.

Rev. Dr. Sey made these remarks during a media interaction at the recently concluded celebration of the church's 50th anniversary.

"Let us all be law-abiding citizens. We are one people. At the end of the day, after the elections, we still need a united Ghana for progress and development. So unity and peace must be our priority," he said.

He further urged all aspiring presidential and parliamentary candidates to accept the election results, emphasizing that their reactions, whether in victory or defeat, will significantly impact the peace and stability of the nation.

"If you win, thank God for that. If you lose, know that you will have another opportunity to contest in four years; it’s not a 'do or die' affair. Ghana will still exist, and there will be many more elections," he added.

FGC Ghana at 50

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Foursquare Gospel Church Ghana, a major milestone since its founding in 1974. Under the theme “Greater Glory,” the church has organized a series of events throughout the year to celebrate God’s faithfulness and look ahead to a brighter future.

The celebrations culminated in the Divine Connection 2024 Convention, a grand event featuring impactful sermons, vibrant worship, and fellowship to mark the Jubilee year.

Reflecting on the church’s legacy, Rev. Dr. Sey highlighted its contributions to leadership and community development over the past five decades.

“For the past 50 years, Foursquare has played a significant role in raising leaders for the community. Our vision for the next 50 years is to transform lives and equip communities with the Gospel of Christ,” he stated.

As FGC Ghana looks to the future, its commitment to fostering peace and unity remains unwavering, aligning with its mission to contribute to a better Ghana.
