Kwamankese (C/R), April 13, GNA- The Queen-mother of Kwamankese Traditional area of the Central Region, Nana Ekua Enyima III, has urged queen-mothers to play frontline role in the fight against all forms of injustices against women and children in their respective traditional areas.
They should also foster closer collaboration with the enlightened people in their communities to initiate development projects that would enhance socio-economic advancement of their towns and villages. Such collaborative efforts could ginger up the enthusiasm and attract young girls and middle-aged women in those communities to use the queen-mothers as role models. Nana Enyima made the call after swearing the oath of allegiance which coincided with the first anniversary of her installation. She said the time has come for women, particularly queen mothers, to show greater concern for the good of women and children and work for their rights.
The Queen Mother urged women not to relent in their attempts to correct the mistakes committed by men against women and children, stressing, "we must strive harder to ensure that our children are given better education."
Nana Enyima said since the enjoyment of constitutional rights goes with responsibilities, queen mothers must ensure that average female citizens in their areas of administration participate fully in all communal duties geared towards development The Queen-Mother who succeeded her late mother, Nana Ekua Enyima II, who ruled for 42 years, renewed her commitment to the goals and aspirations of the Kwamankese traditional area and the nation as a whole.
Nana Idun Andoh X, Omanhene of the area charged women in the area to assist their husbands to inculcate excellent moral and spiritual qualities in their children to enable the community to have the right calibre of leaders for the future. Among the divisional chiefs who attended the function was Nana Eduam Nsempa VIII, Twafohene of Kwamankese Traditional Area who also deputized for the Adontenhene of the area, Nana Ewusi Assan VII.
