Queenmother calls for unity and forgiveness

Asaam (Ash), Feb 21, GNA- Nana Obea Brenya II, the Queen Mother of Asaam near Asante-Mampong, has called on her people to forge a united front and live in peace.

She noted that no community could develop in the midst of confusion and litigation.

Speaking during the celebration of the first anniversary of her enstoolment as the Queen Mother of Asaam last Sunday, Nana Obea said the town needed development and appealed to all to forget the past so that together they could live in peace and develop the town.

The Queen Mother, who also used the occasion to celebrate the "Akwasidae", said, we are one family and it is expedient that we tackle our differences through dialogue without recourse to litigation," Nana Sarfo Nyarko II, chief of Asaam, was unhappy about the resurgence of chieftaincy disputes in the town and prayed the Mamponghene, Daasebre Osei Bonsu to handle the issue with circumspection so that it did not degenerate into chaos.
