The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) has placed an embargo on the use of its monitoring bus by other organisations in the Region.

The RCC said its 33-seater Toyota Coaster had been incessantly requested for by government departments and agencies for various uses.

In a circular signed by Abubakari Musah, an Assistant Director at the RCC on behalf of Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, the Regional Minister, said those organisations showed gross disregards for the RCC’s own need to use the bus.

The RCC said there had been an increasing tendency for organisations, departments and agencies, as well as clubs to request for the bus for us at any point in time without due regard to the condition of the bus.

“The undue pressure put on the bus had led to an increasing cost of running it and it is fast deterioration,” the circular pointed out.

Consequently, the RCC had henceforth placed an embargo on the use of the bus by other organisations.

The circular was therefore to inform all and sundry to desist from making further requests for the bus because as such requests “will be turned down,” the RCC explained.
