The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Mr. Abdul Malik Kwaku Baako, has succeeded running himself aground, in an attempt to engage in unsolicited Public Relations stunt.
In a desperate bid to do the bidding of RLG in relation to the unacceptable attempt by that company to bribe Members of Parliament (MPs) with the construction of boreholes in all the 275 Constituencies for the legislators, Mr. Kwaku Baako, has rather incurred the wrath of his paymasters, as well as Parliament.
Mr. Baako, on Peace FM two days ago, read a letter that was supposedly signed by the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC), begging RLG for sponsorship to embark on a trip abroad.
In the said letter, the Chairman of PAC, Hon Agyeman-Manu, wrote to RLG seeking sponsorship for a trip abroad in spite of the fact that Parliament has already made funds available for that trip.
For the records, Hon Agyeman-Manu is the New Patriotic Party MP for Dormaa West.
A credible source from RLG has told The Informer that, Mr. Baako is now an enemy of the company for letting out information that should not have been in the public domain as regards the request from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to seek sponsorship from it to embark on a foreign trip.
“We have regretted putting Kweku Baako on our payroll” an RLG source said.
“We gave him privileged information to help us and not to hurt us. As things stand now, Kweku Baako has destroyed our corporate image...,” the source added.
“I can tell you that Management is regretting for having any association with Kweku Baako,” the source added.
In a related development, Parliament is also upset with Baako for exposing the House to public ridicule.
Speaking exclusively to this paper, an NPP MP said that Baako said something that he should not have said.
According to the MP, Baako has destroyed the credibility of Parliament and should be hauled before the Privileges Committee of Parliament, to prove his case.
“We use to respect the opinion of Kweku Baako, but he has gone too far in relation to this matter, and he must be pushed to substantiate his case,” the NPP MP said.
In a related matter, NPP MP for Awutu, Hon. Afenyo Markins, has also stated that he does not believe the assertion of Kweku Baako, because, the Chairman of the PAC has no right to seek sponsorship without the approval of the Speaker or the Clerk of Parliament.
From all indications, Kweku Baako has put himself in the pit of RLG and the PAC, and it is not known whether he will come out unscathed.
