Managing Editor of the Searchlight newspaper, Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie has said that radio stations in Ghana have been reduced into a hub for advertising sex enhancers.

Speaking on ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show on Happy FM with Kwame Afrifa Mensah, Ken Kuranchie said ‘’Pardon my language, but all you hear on radio these days is how to get a huge manhood, or how to have good sex among others. No substance,’’ he said.

He also believes that the National Media Commission (NMC) should step up as a regulator of the media and implement guidelines to streamline activities of media houses.

He, however, lauded some veteran journalists who he believes are legends when it comes to the practice of journalism in Ghana. He said ‘’There are some great people who are legends who have fought for media freedom in this country.’’

Ken Kuranchie is a journalist, a board member of the National Media Commission and a leading member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He started practising journalism with the P & P entertainment newspaper and moved on to have a stint with the then Guide newspaper (now Daily Guide) and subsequently worked with The Ghanaian Chronicle until he set up his own paper, The Searchlight.

In 2013, he was convicted of criminal contempt and sentenced to 10-days imprisonment by the Supreme Court.
