Raiding homes of former NDC appointees is a sign of incompetence - MP

Raiding homes of former government officials under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service shows incompetence, lawmaker of the opposition NDC has said.

“On what reasonable suspicion did the police have in searching for information that is already in the public domain?”.He asked

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for South Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region, Hon. Rockson-Nelson Defeampkor on Joy FM’s Newfile analysis show, called on the Inspector General of Police to bring his boys to order especially when they appear to be obstructing MPs from carrying out their mandated duties.

“What is new about the AMERI power deal and it is not published?”,he quizzed during a panel discussion

The lawmaker then questioned the competence of the police CID before storming the homes of Hon. Kwabena Donkor and Hon. John Jinapor, former Power Minister and Deputy respectively to search for information on the controversial power deal.

“Under what circumstances do I know I am under surveillance? You do not have to retrieve evidence from me before summoning me for evidence”, he stated.

Hon. Rockson-Nelson explained the police goofed to have obstructed a lawmaker from attending to such a meeting of national importance like in the case of John Jinapor.
