Government spokesperson on Governance and Security, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has urged North Tongu Member of Parliament (MP), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to take the National Cathedral debate to Parliament and file official questions regarding the project.

Speaking during a discussion on TV3’s The Key Points monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Dr. Boakye-Danquah encouraged Ablakwa to seek answers and clarifications through the formal parliamentary process.

“I urge Ablakwa to file questions on the floor of Parliament and demand clarifications,” Dr. Boakye-Danquah remarked, emphasizing the importance of addressing the concerns over the project in a structured manner within the legislative chamber.

He made the comment in reaction to Mr. Ablakwa’s statement regarding the $58.1 million invested in the National Cathedral project. Ablakwa noted that this figure does not account for the $3.5 million in donations collected globally.

The debate over the National Cathedral has intensified, with members of the public and political figures calling for clarity on the use of public funds and the progress of the project. Dr. Boakye-Danquah’s comments suggest a belief that Parliament is the best avenue for such discussions, where answers can be officially documented and debated.

This development adds another layer to the ongoing conversation surrounding the Cathedral, as demands for transparency continue to grow.
