Rawlings Consoles Despatch Rider's Family

Former President Rawlings paid a visit and consoled the wife and family of the late Sergeant Emmanuel K. Owusu, a presidential despatch rider who died in an accident last Friday. Sergeant Owusu, described as one of the experienced and talented dispatch riders was the outrider of the former President for about fifteen years.

Flight Lieutenant Rawlings consoled the family and promised that he is ready to assist the family in anyway. He also paid his respects to the body of the late dispatch rider at the 37 Military Hospital. Some staff of the former President’s office who have worked with the deceased told JOYFM that he was a hard worker, amiable and experienced.

The deceased, popularly known as ‘burger’ died when his motorbike was hit by a vehicle that failed to stop in response to sirens announcing that the President’s convoy was passing by.
