Former President Jerry John Rawlings left Accra Thursday night to attend the World Association of Non-Governmental Organisations (WANGO) confidence in Washington D.C. as a special guest.

WANGO is one of the foremost International membership organization for NGOs dedicated to world peace, families, and global well-being. The Conference is being convened on the theme “Culture Of Responsibility and the Role of NGOs”. It will deal with issues of fundamental import for the international NGO community.

President Rawlings was accompanied by former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. After the Washington meeting President and Mrs Rawlings are expected to attend a fundraising event in support of the campaign against HIV/AIDS in London. They are expected to be away for one week.
