.....Stop The Provocation!
The office of the Former President, Jerry John Rawlings on Monday called on world leaders to monitor events in Ghana and advice Mr J.A Kufuor's government to exercise extreme caution as it enters its last year in office.

A statement signed by the former President’s Special Assistant, Victor Smith said: "the provocative, unwarranted effusions of some ministers against the former President and his wife could create conditions for serious political rowdyism."

It described the provocations as sinister moves aimed at pushing Rawlings to react "to enable them implement their diabolical plans" against Former President Rawlings.

The statement said it was a fact that Mrs Rawlings was receiving a physiotherapy treatment from the 37 Hospital after being involved in a motor accident during the later part of 2000.

But condemned comments by the Local Government Minister that "the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has turned herself into a beggar, soliciting funds in some foreign countries to cure her alleged ailment, in order to destroy the image of the Kufuor administration internationally and bring the Presidency into disrepute."
