Former President Jerry John Rawlings has congratulated muslims for the successful observance of the Ramadan through fasting and prayers.
A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr Victor Smith, Special Assistant and Director of Public Affairs at the office of the former President said: “As you celebrate the Eid-Ul-Fitr, may I use this opportunity to urge you to continue to pray for a better Ghana for all Ghanaians”.
The former President noted: “May Allah, the Almighty and Most Merciful, help ensure fairness and justice to all manner of persons, in every circumstance, as our country continues to experiment with multi-party democracy”.
The former President added that “my wife, Nana, joins me in wishing you a peaceful and enjoyable celebration of the Eid-Ul-Fitr and greater successes in the coming years”.
