Anloga, the capital of the Anlo Traditional Area, will be the centre of attraction this afternoon as ex-President Jerry John Rawlings is expected to pay a courtesy call on the newly-out doored Awomefia, Torgbui Sri III, and in solidarity with his kith and kins, according to exclusive available to The Herald.

The visit of Mr. Rawlings is expected to throw the area into frenzy as citizens from across the length and breadth of the traditional area, are expected to catch a glimpse of their son.

The ex-president, shortly after the visit departs to the war-torn Somalia to begin work as the African Union Special Envoy towards bringing peace to that country.

Though details of his visit to Anloga are not yet disclosed, Mr. Kofi Adams, his special aide, reveals that Mr. Rawlings’ visit is to show respect for the Awomefia whose out-dooring marked the end of a 13-year chieftaincy unrest in the Anlo Traditional Area.

“Since the king has been out-doored, everyone, especially those from the area, will be happy and the ex-president is no exception; he shares in the happiness of his people,” intimated Mr. Adams.

He noted that ex-President Rawlings who hails from the area, was not in the country when the Awomefia was out-doored, hence courtesy demands that he calls on him to pay his respect to the overload of the area from where he hails.

It would be recalled that finding a successor to the Awomezi of Anlo generated huge controversy following the demise of the late overlord Torgbui Adeladza.

Since the eruption of the confusion ex-President Rawlings, then in office, made frantic calls on the feuding factions to resolve their differences.

Mr. Adam said; “It is obvious that the unbridled rivalry among the potential successors to the Anlo stool has been resolved one way or the other, and the ex-president is happy about this development.
