Former President Jerry John Rawlings says he will fiercely protect his Ridge residence as he alleges encroachment on the land by a developer.

According to Mr. Rawlings, he has alerted the Lands Commission to stop the developer from further pulling down the concrete wall on the land.

He blamed the incidence on what he calls the “growing lawlessness” in the country.

The former president further alleges that another parcel of land at Cantonments which his wife legally acquired through the 31st December Women’s Movement, is being encroached upon.

That parcel of land he claimed has become a center of agitation between the Osu and the La chiefs.

Mr. Rawlings describes the situation as unfortunate and demands the right thing be done.

Meanwhile, President Rawlings will mark the 34th anniversary of the June 4th uprising on Tuesday.

A parade and a wreath laying ceremony by cadres of the June 4th uprising are among activities lined up for the occasion.

Mr. Rawlings who was Chairman of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) ruled from June 4, 1979 to September 24, 1979 after the council forcefully took power in a coup against another military regime, the Supreme Military Council (SMC).
