– Fifi Kwetey.
Our attention has been drawn to a radio interview and subsequent article publication on your website in which Mr. Fiifi Kwetey sought to cast aspersions at the person of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. We wish to exercise our right to a rejoinder and hope you help us in this cause.
In his usual propagandist style and attitude, Mr. Fiifi Kwetey sought to impugn the integrity of Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. We wish to state for the record that it is he and his fellows within the NDC who should be ashamed of themselves for attempting to inflate the debt at TOR for propaganda purposes. It is he, as the deputy minister of finance, who is leading the worst decline of the cedi in 18 years. It is rather he and his fellow propagandists, who are putting Ghana at the risk of a possible future fine from the IMF for misreporting.
As Dr. Bawumia has said and continues to say, you cannot run the economy with propaganda. We hope that Mr. Kwetey takes a cue from this and realizes that the economy is not run on radio.
The fact remains that he has suffered to make any credible point since his propagandist push was exposed by Dr. Bawumia. We can understand the frustration he seems to be under currently. However, we also want to remind Mr. Kwetey that the discussions have moved from personality attacks to issues and he will be doing Ghana good by sticking to those. Next time, he should perhaps speak with more facts and figures instead of just making general statements without facts. Those do no good.
