Nana Akua Addo’s husband, Harold Duodu Norman, has reportedly been remanded into custody for two weeks as proceedings in their domestic violence case continue.

The latest development occurred during a court hearing on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, as the case involving allegations of abuse against the businessman drew public attention.

According to reports, the court also granted Nana Akua Addo custody of their two daughters to ensure their welfare while the case progresses.

Nana Akua Addo reported her husband, Harold Norman to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over allegations of physical, emotional and economic abuse.

The allegations are still under investigation and have not been conclusively established in court.

In a statement issued in October 7, 2026, the Ghana Police Service provided details of the complaint and the steps taken by investigators.

According to the Police, the Director-General of the CID received a petition from Nana Akua Addo on August 20, 2026.

In the petition, she accused her husband of subjecting her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.

The Police further disclosed that preliminary investigations showed that a case involving the couple had previously been handled by DOVVSU at the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July 2026.

As part of the investigation, Harold Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27, 2026, to assist the Police with their inquiries.

Investigators subsequently took a caution statement from him. He was later granted police enquiry bail on August 29, with two sureties, while investigations continued.

Harold Norman was expected to appear before the court on October 7, 2026.

However, his lawyer informed the Police that he had been admitted to the hospital and was unable to attend the scheduled hearing.

The Police said DOVVSU investigators visited the hospital to confirm the information provided by his lawyer.

According to the CID, investigators continued to monitor the situation to ensure that Norman would be brought before the court after his discharge from the hospital.

The police also indicated in its statement that it was working with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to ensure that Nana Akua Addo and the couple’s two daughters received the necessary social welfare support.

The Police also reaffirmed their commitment to handling domestic violence complaints professionally and fairly, assuring the public that such cases would be investigated in line with established procedures.
